Agus Kurniawan, S.Si., M.Farm.

Agus Kurniawan, born in Pandeglang, August 17, 1987. Has completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science at Mathla’ul Anwar University (UNMA) Banten, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2011. During his undergraduate studies, Agus focused on botany and biochemistry with its research topic, namely the analysis of the nutritional content of white oyster mushrooms at different concentrations of nutrient variations. The results of his research were presented in a poster at The 6th International Conference on Global Resource Conservation at the University of Brawijaya, Malang, Indonesia.

After graduating, he worked as a staff at the UNMA Banten quality assurance agency for 2 years. In 2013, Agus continued his studies at the Master’s Program in Pharmacy, University of Indonesia, and graduated in early 2016 with the assistance of scholarship funds from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Republic of Indonesia. During his studies, he took the pharmaceutical field of natural ingredients with his research topic related to Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitors from natural compounds. The research results were published in the International Journal of PharmTech Research with the title Isolation of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitory Activity Quercetin from Peperomia pellucida and in the Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research with the title Screening of Extraction Method for Alkaloid Enrichment of Peperomia pellucida (L) Kunth.

Now, he is completing his doctoral program in pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Pancasila. The research topics taken are still related to natural product products to treat hypertension, which is one of the chronic diseases and health problems in Indonesia.
